Robert Ludlum, the famed writer of the Jason Bourne series, is currently working in partnership with Sierra Entertainment to bring a unique derivation of The Bourne Identity to the Xbox 360. The movie version of The Bourne Identity faired very well as a movie, getting very high ratings and box office attention, so hopefully The Bourne Conspiracy will follow in its footsteps. Jason Bourne, now a rouge government agent, doesn’t remember his past life of high-risk, confidential missions. Bourne must rid his life of those who hunt him, be it the hounding U.S. government that seeks to reclaim him or sects of dangerous terrorists. The Bourne Conspiracy will likely be a title that revolves around the instinct of survival, as Bourne must avoid detection and use his supreme hand-to-hand combat skills and firearms abilities. Though The Bourne Conspiracy will not arrive until summer of next year, be sure to check out the movies and novels if you haven’t done so: The Bourne Ultimatum, the next chapter in the film series, will hit theaters throughout the United States on August 3rd. - A Near Collision between two cars caused a pedestrian to proclaim loudly “That was f***ud up”
- As Niko approached several people milling in a large group, he sort weaved in and out of them. At one point, he even pushed a pedestrian gently out of his way.
- As Niko continued descending a small hill further down the road, we noticed the way his weight seemed to shift backwards a little, as though he was saving himself from just pitching forwards and setting off into a run. He looked exactly like someone walking down a hill does.
- Another example of the wight shifting was shown later, when Niko began running - looking much like a normal person does instead of some unrealistic videogame representation. He leaned a little to the left and right, depending on which direction Rockstar took him, rather than his top half staying stationary and only his legs moving, as per previous GTA games.
- The sight of Niko just walking up some steps managed to impress too.
- The Rockstar team did inform us that that fire escapes and other stuff can be used within the game. We saw a ton of these around Broker and we’re sure they’ll come in handy, at least in terms of roof access for sniping missions in the finished game, if sniper missions remain, of course.
- Rather than the rags to riches story of old games, GTA IV looks more like a rags to better rags story. The idea is ostensibly for Bellic to keep afloat in Liberty City, rather than walking the streets with tons of cash dripping out of every pocket. After all, if Niko had accumulated over half a million dollars, it’s a little far fetched for him to want to carry out other missions. He’d be set for life from that point on and could provide for both himself and his brother. We therefore imagine GTA IV will have a much more realistic approach to funds and how much you’ll ultimately have to spend them throughout the game.
- Little focus on building business empires this time - it makes no sense to continue living a criminal life if you’re pulling in lucrative results at your pizza parlour, nightclub or taxi rank.
- Unlike other GTAs, IV will have a lesser known voice cast and music that isn’t distinctly popular or obvious to the 2007 settings. Expect many unsigned bands or indies to show up.

The web team at Xbox has been busy working on a redesign for Xbox.com that is going to go live Tuesday. While there are no new features in this update (it’s just a visual redesign) there are a couple of things worth mentioning: - A new look for all of the content pages.
- Redesigned navigation
- One click access to the My Xbox section (see the examples above)
- New search function using LIVE search
- A bunch of other little things to make it easier to use
The operations team will start deploying the update after 0400 PT Tuesday morning . Assuming all goes well, Xbox.com will not be offline at all, the new design will ‘just happen’. Be first to comment on this article |
Here's a breakdown:
- Vibration every footstep when you run
- No more HUD or user interface, body armor shows
- Flamethrowers and rocket launchers are still in
- Explosions are larger than ever, a mission requires creating a chain reaction of car explosions
- Cars only explode if you blow them up, not by crashing or getting hit
- Niko can run forever, but not as fast as before
- More RPG elements (time specific missions)
- Bullet wounds show, blood appears where you shoot people
- No more eating, girlfriends, or changing body size but skills still improve
- Unlockable vehicles and "plenty of goodies" at 100% completion
- Land size is bigger than 3 cities put together from GTA: San Andreas
- Better graphics than Saints Row, draw distance is literally as far as you can see
- New trailer will be out by June 28
