Grand Theft Auto IV delayed from Oct. to fiscal Q2 '08

Take Two just announced the highly anticipated Grand Theft Auto IV will be delayed from this its originally scheduled October release date until the second fiscal quarter of 2008, or between February and April of '08. Though no direct cause for the delay was cited, Take-Two Chairman Strauss Zelnick said "certain elements of development proved to be more time-intensive than expected."

I know one of the reasons they did this, was because Halo 3 was coming out a month before this. Sales wouldn't be that big. That was probably one factor. But I hear that there was "technological challenges" Okay.

Well, it's disappointing. But, at the same time, there are a LOT of must-buy games coming out this holiday. Having one big title pushed back to Spring of '08 isn't that bad. I'll have my hands full with Halo 3, Bioshock, Mass Effect, Ace Combat 6, and Call of Duty 4.
