CoD 5, Guitar Hero IV, Tony Hawk 11 confirmed
Written by Stryker

In the wake of Sunday’s shocking Activision-Blizzard merger news, the top dogs of Activision and Vivendi Games recently held a transcontinental conference call to shed more light on the out of the blue business deal and what’s to come.

Not to bore the hell out of you with all the financial mumbo jumbo, we’ll cut right to the chase here by saying that the newly formed company has unveiled its plans concerning the future iterations of some of its key franchises. Tucked away at the bottom of a fact sheet was the following:

Pipeline includes: Guitar Hero IV, Call of Duty 5, James Bond, new Tony Hawk, new DreamWorks titles, new Marvel titles and entry into racing with Bizarre

Given the enormous commercial and critical success of the above franchises, it’s hardly a surprise that new installments are underway. As for the new racing game, we already learned of its existence at the time of the Bizarre Creations acquisition.

Whereas all this is great news for fans of the top-selling franchises, what may come as a blow to you is the CEO Robert Kotick’s claim that, of Activision’s key franchises, “you can expect every one of those properties to be exploited annually or on a near-annual basis.” We’d all like to see more and more of Call of Duty and the likes but just make sure you don’t pull an EA on us!
